Following the death of a yet-to-be-identified woman found in a hotel room in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, the state Police Command has launched an investigation into the matter.
The woman’s lifeless body was reportedly discovered on Wednesday inside the facility located along the Ore–Okitipupa Road, while the man who checked into the room with her fled the scene.
It was gathered that both individuals arrived together earlier in the day, before staff later found the woman dead.
According to a source, the duo were seen together earlier in the day, but when a worker of the hotel got to the room, the lady was seen lifeless on the bed, and the man could not be found.
“It was the person who drew the attention of other hotel staff to the scene. Immediately, the matter was reported at the police station in Ore,” the source said.
According to the hotel worker, there were no visible injuries or signs of struggle in the room.
Ondo State Police Command public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the development , saying said operatives had begun efforts to track down the fleeing suspect.
“Yes, the incident happened, and we have begun an investigation, and efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect,” Ayanlade said.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at a hospital morgue in the community.
