The National Pension Commission (PenCom), said total Asset Under Management (AUM) by Pension Fund Administrators ( PFAs) rose by 6.28% ytd to N14.27trn as of June 30, 2022, from N13.42trn in December 2021.
According to data obtain from the commission’s website, AUM was largely driven by inflows from monthly contributions just as the number of Retirement Savings Accounts (RSA) grew by 2.8% to 9.8m in H1 2022 from 9.53million at the end of December 2021.
Also, Micro Pensions’ Retirement Savings Accounts rose slightly 5% q/q to 80,419 from 76,588 at the end of March 2022.
Investments in Federal Government instruments lead the total AUM with 63.14% share or N9 trillion.
Money Market Instruments contributed about N2.15trillion, Corporate Debt Instruments contributed N1.19triliom while domestic equity accounted N969.15 billion.
These Four asset above accounted for 93.34% or N13.32trilluon of PFAs’ total AUM.
