Twelve days after Lagos journalist, Segun Olatunji went missing, his family members have written to the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appealing to him to help in locating their breadwinner.

Olatunji, the editor of FirstNews, was, on March 15, 2023, whisked away by ten armed men, two of whom were in military uniform to an undisclosed location.

Efforts by his family, friends, and associates to find him had been unsuccessful, leaving them almost despondent.

The family in the Save Our Soul (SOS) letter to the Lagos Chief Executive pleaded with him to use his authority as the State Chief Security Officer to unravel the mystery of Olatunji’s sudden disappearance.

In the letter signed by Mr. Tosin Olatunji, elder brother of the abducted journalist, the family, said time may be running out, as every passing day comes with pain for the family and the victim.

He said after writing a similar SOS letter to the President, Bola Tinubu, for his intervention, they found it imperative to also write to the governor since the incident took place in Lagos.

“We have decided to write an SOS letter to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanw-Olu. Recall we wrote a similar letter last week to the President and Commnder in Chief of the Armed Forces.

“The reason we decided to write to the governor is because he is the Chief Security Officer of the State, more so, the unfortunate incident took place in his domain. So, we want him to help us.

“It’s been a trying moment for us all. We’re been on the edge with each passing day not knowing the fate and health condition of our father, brother, and uncle. This is the first time this kind of thing is happening to us as a family. It will be sad to continue to live every day, not knowing what to do.”

Publisher of First News, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, while encouraging the family to stay strong, said with God all things are possible, adding that with the ongoing prayer and fasting, “God will show himself mightily and Olatunji will be released.”
