BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR–The newly appointed Commissioner for Insurance/CEO Mr Olusegun Ayo Omosehin on Friday assumed office as Commissioner for insurance.
Omosehin who resumed at the Commission’s Head office was received by senior members of staff.
President Bola Tinubu last month appointed Olusegun Ayo Omosehin as Commissioner for Insurance, Ms. Halima Kyari — Chairperson of the Commission, Olawoye Gam-Ikon – Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations); Dr. Usman Jankara Jimada — Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration); Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu — Member; Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun – Member and Umar Khalifa Mohammed — Member.
Following his arrival, the CFI had an interactive session with the entire Management and Staff of the Commission, during his opening remark he stated the new executive Mgt would set a new tone for the Nigerian Insurance Sector.
His predecessor Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas who was in attendance to officially handover to the new CFI thanked the staff for their support while in office.
In a positive light, the new CFI is optimistic of achieving a more vibrant Insurance Sector.
Furthermore, the CFI noted that the Federal Government intends to achieve a $1Trillion economy by 2026. With this target in cognizance, the Insurance Sector is expected to play a critical role and contribute to its achievement.
