BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR– The Police have arrested 23 years old Gbolahan Adebayo, for the death of his girlfriend yet to be identified.
According to statement by CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, force Public Relations Officer, that
one of suspect’s neighbor who reported the incident at Isheri Osun police division, said he saw the suspect Gbolahan Adebayo, beating his girlfriend on Friday the 21st of February, 2025 in his home in Ijedodo for yet to be determined reasons.
However, seven hours later, Gbolahan Adebayo, reportedly screamed for help and on getting to his apartment the said girlfriend was met lying unconscious on the bed with visible mark of violence found on the body. She was immediately taken to the hospital in Ijegun where she was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.
Based on the report the police visited the scene of the crime likewise the hospital and the corpse was inspected and deposited at the IDH Morgue Yaba for autopsy.
The statement noted that the suspect is in custody and investigation has commenced.
