BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Underwriting firm, Unitrust Insurance Limited yesterday held its second customer night dinner to celebrate its customers across the country for their support over the years.
Speaking at the event which was held at Eko hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, Arowojolu Adedayo Alaba, managing director/CEO said “No business can survive nor thrive without the support of customers. Since the commencement of Unitrust Insurance Company Limited operation in February 1986, and our brief period of transition to Saham Unitrust Insurance Company Limited, it is heartwarming to note that most of our customers had stood by us and exhibited unwaveringloyalty to the Unitrust brand.
According to him the event is to show our appreciation for your unflinching support over the years despite stiff competition from other insurance industry players. We cannot take your loyalty to the Unitrust brand for granted. We are aware, as it happens in most relationships, you may have had some period of disappointments. However, your decision to keep faith in the Company, is much appreciated. For this we say a big thank you.
Committed to prompt claims settlement, he said the company paid out N9billion on claims at the end of full year period of 2024.
Ahead of possible industry recapitalization, he noted that its capital base is well over N30billion and positioned to handle any risk.
On strategies of the company he said “The business environment is constantly changing, so are customers’ expectations. To ensure that we meet our customers’ expectations, we are constantly reviewing our processes and value proposition to guarantee the delivery of excellent service to our cherished customers.
He listed some of the key initiatives the company has introduced aimed at improving customer experience which included 48hours Claims Settlement After Receipt of Discharged Vouchers; Deployment of Webplug Application ; UNIS (WhatsApp Chatbot) and Responsiveness through better engagements.
Explaining he said “In the last two years, this has been our service promise to our customers. Realizing that prompt claims settlement is the hallmark of any serious insurance company. We have put in place internal processes that has supported us in delivering this service promise to all our customers. INot only that, but we are also reaching out to customers with outstanding claims to document their claims to enable us to settle them without further delays.
On deployment of Webplug Application in claims processes he said “we have developed this application to fast-track claims process from notification to offer of settlement with a view to minimizing the entire claims turnaround time and further improve customer experience. The link to access Webplug is now being included on our Policy Documents.
He noted that the application is used for claims Acknowledgement email/letters and Renewal Notice. This application can also be used to renew existing businesses and onboard new businesses.
While WhatsApp Chatbot UNIS is AI application for onboarding new motor policies.
On responsiveness through better engagements he said “we are constantly improving our interactions and engagements with our customers in other to guarantee value for money.
He however reassured its customers that it will continue to seek better ways of making their experience with the company more enjoyable.
Kazeem Tunji Anibaba, Executive Director, Technical, said these customers have been with us over the years and we are here to thank them for their loyalty and trust they have in us.
Oludele Oyetunji, Chief Marketing Officer of the company, thanked the customers for being with the company despite harsh economic environment.
According to him we can’t do anything with our customers. They are the reason why we are still in this business. Unitrust is unique in many ways and we have a unique customers. So tonight is to reinforce their interest in us and to sustain the confidence they have in us that we are still here for them.
