The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has revealed the reasons the former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, ex-Senate President David Mark, and others left the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) for African Democratic Congress(ADC), because they could not hijack the party’s leadership and are no longer in power, reports Business TodayNG.
Wike, former governor of Rivers State, who made this disclosure during a media chat with newsmen on Thursday, 3 July, 2025 in Abuja, Nigeria’ seat of power, said David Mark wanted to be PDP chairman but was denied, which is why he left the party for the ADC.
Wike urged Nigerians to consider the rationale behind the coalition, just as he also added that it is made up of individuals who are hungry because they are no longer in power.
“Nigerians need to be careful of this group of Nigerians who are angry because they left power.
“Nigerians know everybody. For how long would you continue to deceive them? Who would want to give listening to these kind of people?” he stated, just as he also added that the opposition has decimated itself ahead of the general elections in 2027.
“The opposition has decimated themselves,” he said.
Recall that David Mark, Atiku, and others recently adopted ADC as a coalition to remove President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 election.
