Ahead of 2017 presidential poll, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, held a meeting in Abuja on Monday.

The parley took place at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre during the Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in honour of Former Minister of Agriculture, Late Chief Audu Ogbeh.
Atiku, who disclosed the meeting in a post on X, paid tribute to Ogbeh, describing him as a patriot and a brilliant mind whose role in Nigeria’s democratic journey and public service left indelible marks.

Both Atiku and Obi are expected to vie for the presidential ticket of the coalition platform, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Recall that Atiku and Obi ran on a joint ticket under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 presidential election, where Atiku emerged as the presidential candidate with Obi as his running mate. The pair polled 11,262,978 votes but lost to President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 15,191,847 votes.
