FG Hints On Expanding Access To Certified Seeds To Improve Food Security

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has today in Abuja, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kiyari, to advance collaboration on Nigeria’s food security agenda.

Talks focused on expanding access to certified seeds, establishing a decentralised seed certification system with strict quality controls, and finalising preparations for the upcoming dry season farming.

Strengthening agricultural productivity is central to reducing food inflation, attracting private investment, and securing long-term economic growth for Nigeria, the discussions added.
