Insecurity: ADC Cries Out Over Tinubu Lack Of Concern

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) on Sunday attacked President Bola Tinubu of neglecting Nigeria’s worsening security crisis, saying Nigerians are “under attack” while the presidency focuses on political appearances.

The National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, who stated this through a statement issued on Sunday, said Tinubu has shown “brazen insensitivity” to the killings and abductions taking place across the country.
Abdullahi, in the statement, faulted the president for attending ceremonies and funerals involving political allies, while residents in several states — including Kwara, Kogi, Plateau and Zamfara — continue to suffer banditry, kidnappings and mass displacement.

“Nigeria is under attack. This administration must stop pretending otherwise. The lives of Nigerians must matter more than soundbites and ceremonies. Pesident Tinubu’s continued preference for attending social and political events in the midst of alarming deterioration of internal security is both unacceptable and irresponsible,” Abdullahi said in the statement

.
The ADC dismissed Tinubu’s recent remarks in Jos that his mission is to unite Nigerians, describing them as “mere political rhetoric” that contradict his actions since taking office.

The opposition party warned that the federal government’s “vague assurances of progress” mock the realities of citizens, citing reports of schools shutting down in the north and communities being forced to provide ransom payments to bandits.

The party called on the administration to formally acknowledge the scale of insecurity, engage directly with affected communities, strengthen joint security deployments, and institute a transparent mechanism to track the use of security funds.
