Nigerian Air Force Crew Freed in Burkina Faso, En Route To Portugal

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has confirmed the release of the pilots and crew of the Nigerian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft (NAF 913) that were previously detained in Burkina Faso.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Ambassador Tuggar disclosed that following diplomatic engagements with authorities in Burkina Faso, the crew of the NAF C-130 (913) were formally cleared to leave the country and have since departed, travelling to Portugal via Accra.

He подчеркed Nigeria’s continued commitment to dialogue and regional cooperation, noting that such approaches have consistently produced positive results.

The minister also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his visionary leadership and steady guidance, describing his role as instrumental in resolving the situation through constructive diplomacy and peaceful engagement.
