The Presidency on Thursday denied media reports suggesting that President Bola Tinubu is planning to sack his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and replace him with his Principal Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

According to a statement released via his X account, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, clarified that the report was entirely false and urged Nigerians to disregard it. He stated, “There is absolutely no truth to this story.”

The statement further affirmed that the Chief of Staff remains in his position, as does the Principal Private Secretary, and emphasized that Hakeem Muri-Okunola has not replaced Femi Gbajabiamila as Chief of Staff.

”The  viral claim is a fabrication by mischievous purveyors of fake news whose sole aim is to create disharmony within the government.

“We reiterate that news media should always verify their information before publishing or sharing on social media.”
