The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has announced 6.67% growth  in Profit After Tax (PAT) in the 2025 financial year to N5.76 trillion when compared with ₦5.4 trillion achieved in 2024.

According to the agency December 2025 Monthly Report Summary, it reported N60.5 trillion in revenue, crude oil and condensate production, natural gas output, revenue, PAT, strategic initiatives during the period under review.

The report indicated that crude oil production remained relatively moderate during the financial year, with pipeline maintenance activities disrupting some operations.

According to the figures, average crude oil and condensate output stood at 1.54 million barrels per day (mbpd), reflecting stable production despite ongoing infrastructure upgrades and security challenges in producing regions.

Gas production reached 6,914 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) in December. Monthly data showed that output peaked at over 7,500 mmscfd mid-year before declining slightly toward the end of the year.

Gas sales remained steady at an average of more than 4,700 mmscfd, underscoring NNPC’s strategic focus on gas as Nigeria’s transition fuel and a key revenue stabiliser.

The report also noted fluctuations in profitability, with marginal losses recorded in the early months of the year before a strong rebound between March and June. Operational reliability indicators, however, showed marked improvement.

In terms of upstream pipeline availability, the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Gas Pipeline recorded 100 per cent availability, while the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline achieved 91 per cent. NNPC Retail (NRL) station availability stood at 65 per cent.

The data highlighted significant improvements in network stability and product distribution efficiency, particularly in the second half of the year.

It added that planned maintenance and upgrade works at Stardeep-Agbami and Renaissance–Estuary Area (EA), as well as unplanned facility outages, affected production performance in December.

The report further disclosed the successful completion of major engineering milestones, including river crossings and mainline welding operations on the AKK Mainline. It also confirmed the completion of the OB3 River Niger Crossing early works and commencement of pilot hole drilling, noting that the project remains on track for scheduled delivery.
