BY NKECHI BAECHE-ESEZOBOR—AXA Mansard Insurance Plc has partnered with the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency to introduce a Safeguard Booklet aimed at raising awareness and preventing domestic and sexual violence, particularly among children and teenagers.Gf
The booklet was unveiled in Lagos during the 2026 AXA Week for Good and is designed to provide children, parents, teachers and communities with practical guidance on recognising abuse, identifying warning signs and accessing available support services.
The initiative forms part of AXA Mansard’s global employee volunteer programme, AXA Hearts in Action, through which staff contribute their time and expertise to projects that improve the wellbeing of communities.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Mansard Health, Tope Adeniyi, said the company remains committed to protecting vulnerable groups, noting that its responsibility extends beyond insurance to promoting safer communities.
According to him, increasing public awareness is one of the most effective ways to prevent domestic and sexual violence, adding that the Safeguard Booklet reflects the company’s determination to encourage early intervention and shared responsibility for child protection.
The campaign is built around the theme, “Being a Child Should Never Be a Risk,” highlighting the importance of creating safe environments where children can grow, learn and thrive free from abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Executive Secretary of Lagos DSVA, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, described the publication as an important resource that will equip children, parents and educators with the knowledge needed to identify risks early and respond appropriately. She also commended AXA Mansard for supporting efforts to strengthen child protection across Lagos State.
Chief Marketing Officer of AXA Mansard Insurance Plc, Adebola Surakat, said the booklet will be distributed through schools, partner organisations and community platforms to expand awareness, promote reporting and encourage collective action against domestic and sexual violence across Nigeria.
