BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—In a bid to make insurance more accessible and technology-driven, Anchor Insurance Company Limited on Monday launched an Enhanced Third-Party Motor Insurance Policy and the Anchor Insurance App,

Speaking at the official unveiling, the Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Ebose Augustine Osegha, said the products would bring insurance closer to customers and deepen insurance penetration in Nigeria.

Osegha said the enhanced policy was designed to bridge the gap between standard third-party insurance and comprehensive cover. According to him, many motorists want more protection than third-party insurance offers but cannot afford the higher cost of comprehensive cover.

“Why should motorists have to choose between affordability and meaningful protection?” he asked, describing the new policy as the company’s answer.

He said it offers practical protection at a price within reach of individuals, families, institutions and small businesses.

He urged motorists, fleet owners, transport operators and corporate organisations to embrace the product as an expression of responsible motoring and financial preparedness, not merely a legal requirement.

On the app, Osegha said it is built around two functions: policy/purchase management and claims management. Retail customers can buy insurance, make payments through supported digital channels and receive documents electronically within minutes, subject to verification and underwriting. Existing customers can view policy details, update their information and get renewal notifications.

Customers can also submit claims, upload supporting documents and track progress through the processing stages. Osegha said this matters because “the true test of an insurer’s promise often comes at the point of a claim.”

The app also has a Broker Module, which lets brokers manage multiple clients, access policy information, support claims activities and monitor updates from one platform.

Osegha invited existing policyholders and unprotected Nigerians to download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. He said Anchor would keep investing in technology, people and processes while maintaining responsible underwriting, regulatory compliance and customer protection.

“At Anchor Insurance, we are not waiting for the future of insurance, we are building it,” he said, reiterating the company’s promise: “we are where insurance works.”

He then formally unveiled both products and invited customers, brokers, partners and the wider insurance community to embrace them.
