Reps Pass Electoral Act Amendment Bill

The House of Representatives has passed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

The lawmakers passed the bill at Wednesday’s plenary in Abuja after they adopted the report by the Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committee on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A member of the chamber from Gombe State, Aishatu Dukku, presented the report which led to the passage of the bill on the floor of the House.

The lawmakers passed the bill a day after the Senate passed a similar bill.

Meanwhile, the lawmakers have adjourned their plenary till November 6, to enable them embark on oversight to various ministries, departments and agencies they supervise.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Yusuf Lasun, announced this at the close of plenary the.

He said, “The plenary is hereby adjourned till the 6th of November.”
