PREMIUM PENSION APPOINTS SADI ABDU AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OPERATIONS AND SERVICES

Mr. Sadi Abdu

In a Strategic performance-driven effort aimed at achieving immense potentials within the pension industry, the Board of Premium Pension Limited recently appointed Mr. Sadi Abdu as Executive Director Operations & Services.

According to statement released by head corporate Communication, Aliyu Mohammed Ali that the appointment of the new Executive Director is expected to birth the much expected premium experience to members of Premium Pension.

Mr. Sadi is a seasoned banker of repute, a distinguished member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB), member of Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) United Kingdom, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) as well as Certified Islamic Finance Analyst (CIFA). He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

The new ED is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA) and Fellow of Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria (FICA). He started his career as a lecturer with College of Arts & Sciences (CAS), Kano before moving to Messrs. Muhtari Dangana & Co Chartered Accountants as a trainee accountant in Lagos.

As a professional banker of repute, he worked with the then FSB International Bank and was part of the team that handled the re-branding of the bank as part of its strategic plan. He later joined Access Bank and subsequently Unity Bank. While at the Unity Bank Mr. Sadi was a member of the team that repositioned the bank after the merger and consolidation exercise.

Prior to joining Premium Pension Limited, the new Executive Director Operations & Services was a pioneer management staff of Jaiz Bank and team leader in the Internal Audit of the bank. In that capacity he rendered immense contribution in the setting up of Operations, Financial Control, and Compliance departments of the bank. He also, actively participated in all the strategic committees including the IT Steering, Disciplinary, Technical & ALCO as well as Procurement committees.

In his remarks, while welcoming the new Executive Director on his assumption to duty  at the corporate head office of the Company, the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Umar Sanda Mairami expressed confidence that, the appointment of the new Executive Director would further strengthen the operations of the Company for improved performance.

Mr. Mairami described the unprecedented growth level achieved by the Company in the last decade, a feat he described as being customer/member centric, hard work and richly endowed with executives with multi-disciplinary talents.

Mr. Sadi acquired robust experience by heading strategic core banking activities including branch operations, management information system, financial control and audit units. He served as a member of the Investigative panel of the sub-committee on ethics and professionalism of the Bankers Committee.

During his illustrious banking career spanning over 2 decades, he attended several prestigious leadership training programmes at leading business schools both within and beyond the country. Among these institutions are MISTI (United Kingdom), ORCA (Johannesburg) and Lagos Business School.

He is an Oracle 10g Certified Professional and holds Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies.

Premium Pension Limited is a licensed Pension Fund Administrator Company which started operations in the year 2005, with current Assets Under Management (AUM) standing at N599 Billion.
