Abia Police Confirm Recovery Of Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Of Suspect

Operatives of the Abia State Police Command have arrested of a suspected criminal, Emeka Chukwuma, a male from Umuchu, Aguata Local Government, Anambra State, and the recovery of a Toyota Highlander SUV with registration number BBR667RM.

The Abia State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed the development through a statement issued onThursday that the state Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa.

Chinaka, who disclosed that the vehicle was stolen in Akwa Ibom state said in the statement that “In furtherance of investigations into a case of a stolen vehicle reported in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, in 2022, but suspected to have been moved to Abia State, leveraging on credible and actionable intelligence, operatives of the Scorpion Squad Abia State Police Command, on 22/08/2025, recovered a Toyota Highlander SUV with Registration Number BBR667RM and apprehended one Emeka Edwin Chukwuma, a native of Umuchu, Aguata LGA, Anambra State, in relation to the incident.

“The complainant has been contacted to aid in ascertaining the originality and ownership of the recovered vehicle.
“Meanwhile, further investigations are ongoing.”
