Ahead of Anambra State Governorship election, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has endorsed the candidature of George Moghalu, the party’s governorship candidate in the state.
In a post on X, Obi said he joined Moghalu at a town hall meeting in Nimo, Anambra central senatorial zone, over the weekend.
Obi said said Moghalu’s manifesto places “human development at the heart of governance” and prioritises security, education, healthcare, and poverty reduction.
“At a time when the safety of lives and property, as well as the future of our children’s education, remain critical concerns, I fully support George Moghalu,” Obi wrote, just as he also described the LP candidate as a leader who has consistently demonstrated “capacity, compassion, and character — the essential values of true leadership”.
He also expressed confidence that Anambra would record meaningful improvements in the human development index under Moghalu’s guidance.
