BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Almond Productions Limited, the organizers of the annual Almond Insurance Industry Awards, has opened nominations for the 2026 awards ceremony, themed #REEMERGENCE.
The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, November 6, at The Stable Event Place, Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos.
According to the organizers, the #REEMERGENCE theme highlights the commencement of the NIIRA implementation process and the recapitalization initiative, both of which are expected to usher in a transformative era for the insurance sector.
This year’s edition will maintain its streamlined structure in line with globally accepted award standards. Additionally, a fresh category, “Insurtech Company of the Year,” has been introduced to acknowledge the growing impact of technology within the insurance landscape.
Speaking during a press briefing held in Lagos, the organizers confirmed that nominations officially opened on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and will remain active until June 30, 2026, closing at exactly 11:59 p.m.
Addressing journalists at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Almond Productions Limited, Ms. Kesiena Faith Ughwode, explained that the entire award process—from nomination to voting—is powered by data and technology. Consequently, all nominations must be submitted exclusively through the official website:www.almondinsuranceindustryawards.com.
Ughwode further noted that previous editions revealed a trend where participants delayed nominations and voting until the final moments, with some requesting deadline extensions afterward.
She emphasized that no extension will be granted this year and encouraged all stakeholders to complete their nominations early, on or before the June 30 deadline.
Now in its fourth edition, the Almond Awards was established to recognize and honor the resilience, innovation, and achievements of insurance professionals and key players within the insurance ecosystem who continue to excel despite economic and social difficulties in Nigeria.
