The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed its presidential primary election for May 15 and 16, 2026, as part of its early groundwork ahead of the 2027 nationwide polls.

The dates appear in a fresh calendar of events and programme outline recently released by the party, which maps out activities for selecting flagbearers across different political offices.

Under the arrangement, individuals seeking the party’s presidential nomination will pay ₦100 million for both expression of interest and nomination forms, while those eyeing governorship positions are required to pay ₦50 million.

The document also sets financial requirements for other categories, including senatorial and House of Representatives aspirants, with separate fee structures outlined for each.

It further provides a detailed roadmap covering screening of contestants, consideration of objections, and the conduct of primaries at all levels of representation.

The schedule, endorsed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, also explains procedures for acquiring forms and participating in the selection process.

In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the framework is aimed at ensuring orderly, open, and credible internal elections in line with established guidelines.

He added that the party is focused on deepening internal democratic practices and reinforcing its ideological direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
