As a condition for peace and safety during this year’s harvest, Bandits have told resident of Ilali village in Katsina State to pay N5 million

The demand, which villagers describe as a “peace levy,” was said to be imposed to allow farmers access to their farmlands without fear of attack.

Security analyst Bakatsine made this disclosure in a post shared on his X  handle on Tuesday.

“Bandits have reportedly imposed a ₦5 million levy on residents of Ilali village in Katsina State. Sources say the demand is framed as a fee for peace and safe harvest,” Bakatsine wrote.

As at the time of filing this report, Katsina state Police Command has yet to issue an official statement on the development.
