The African Football governing body, Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the new trophy for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations at an elaborate ceremony in Rabat, Morocco capital on Wednesday, 2 July, 2025, reports Business TodayNG
According to CAF, the launch is part of the body’s effort to reposition the women’s game on the continent.
Representatives of the 12 countries that will participate in the upcoming WAFCON 2024 finals were present at the ceremony.
The tournament will kick off on Saturday,5 July, 2025 with hosts, the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco, taking on the Copper Queens of Zambia in the opening fixture.
Banyana Banyana of South Africa are the current holders of the competition.
