PRESS RELEASE–-The Commonwealth Businesswomen Network Nigeria (CBWN Nigeria) said is partnering with Brevity Anderson, the organisers of the Nigeria International Petroleum Summit 2021.

CBWN is a part of CBWN UK which was pioneered by the Charter of the Commonwealth (2013), signed by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth ll, Head of the Commonwealth on Commonwealth Day 2013 and endorsed by ‘Commonwealth Heads of Government during Australia’s term as Chair-in-Office’.

The Nigeria International Petroleum Summit which is the official industry event of the Federal Government of Nigeria and hosted by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will hold from 28th March – 1st April 2021 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

The Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole said that CBWN Nigeria will be hosting a technical workshop at the summit tagged ‘A Day for Women in Energy, Technology, Power, Oil & Gas’ on 31st March 2021.

The workshop theme is A Female Approach to the Future of Hydrocarbons. There will also be an exhibition of female owned businesses at the Summit.

Nigeria’s petroleum industry is the largest in Africa with proven Oil and Gas reserve of 37 billion barrels and 192 trillion cubic feet respectively. The sector contributes about 10% to the country’s Gross Domestic Product and accounts for 95% of all exports. Given that Nigeria’s Gas reserves have remained largely untapped, the country is expected to make a shift towards becoming a major producer and exporter of Gas.

With on-going reforms in the sector and improved engagement with host communities, Nigeria is positioning herself to be the foremost oil and gas investment destination. The official Nigeria International Petroleum Summit will therefore create the perfect platform for the world to meet Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry players.

The Summit will provide a meeting point between key Nigerian political decision-makers, government officials as well as directors and specialists from the Ministry, NNPC and other relevant governmental bodies on the one part and Directors of National & International oil companies, multinational and multilateral organizations, the academia and other relevant stakeholders, etc. It will also feature an international exhibition of economic operators, national and international companies and potential investors coming together to present new technologies and know-how in the petroleum sector.

CBWN is the only accredited organization focused on women’s economic empowerment and recognized by 54 governments. CBWN Nigeria has strong Oil, Gas and Energy Membership Forum, and an even greater network in the wider CBWN worldwide network.

For more information about how to participate under the women platform and exhibit your business at the Summit, please contact Dr. Mrs. Tonia Smart, Head, Strategy & Program
