NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR–The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone B Command, Kaduna, on Tuesday said it has seized 1044 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 250 parcels of indian hemp,75,682 suspected tablets of tramadol and other items worth N318,297,951.65 in the month of December 2021.
According to statement released by the zone
in Kaduna the Comptroller FOU Zone B Kaduna, Comptroller AB Hamisu psc(+) showcased 103 seizure made by officers and men of the unit from 17 November to 20 December 2021.
He also handed over 650 sacks of adulterated motor oil and 132 sacks of AGO (Diesel) to representative of the Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) for further investigation. The products were intercepted around Maraban Jos on the 20 December 2021.
Other items showcased at the briefing include 26 units of motor vehicles, 127 bales of secondhand clothing, 635 cartons of foreign spaghetti and macaroni.
Speaking further, Comptroller AB Hamisu attributed the success of his officers within the period to the motivation received from NCS management and CGC marching orders recently after allocating to the unit 18 brand new operational vehicles coupled with information received from some patriotic members of the public.
He promised to redouble all effort at ensuring the zone and nation is free of smuggling for the economic betterment of the country.
