Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested, Charged and Remanded in Kirikiri After Viral Video Alert

he Lagos State Police Command has arrested and prosecuted a suspect, Emeka Joseph, following a viral video detailing the assault of a woman, identified as Ezeka Chisom.

A preliminary investigation by the Command revealed that the suspect severely assaulted the victim, with whom he had been cohabiting, causing visible injuries to her face. Following his arrest, the suspect was swiftly charged to court and has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre. The case has been adjourned until August 3, 2026.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, has reiterated the Command’s strict zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of domestic and gender-based violence. He reassured the public that the Police will continue to handle all cases of abuse with the utmost urgency and seriousness.

CP Fatai further urges Lagos residents to remain vigilant and promptly report incidents of domestic violence or any criminal activities to the nearest police station.
