BY SUNDAY SAMUEL—Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) on Wednesday apprehended former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, shortly after he was granted bail wby the Economic and financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC).
El-Rufai was reportedly released around 8:00 p.m. before being intercepted by DSS operatives said to have been waiting at the EFCC headquarters. Sources indicate that the arrest may be connected to allegations involving the unlawful interception of communications linked to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement clarifying the circumstances surrounding the development.
