The Federal Executive Council has approved over N10 billion for the Ministry of Interior to spend on construction of a Data Control Centre for the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The approval of the sum was one of the decisions reached by President Muhammadu Buhari and other council members after the FEC meeting on Wednesday.

Part of the money will be used to purchase 116 vehicles for transporting inmates to courts from the various prisons across the country.

At a news conference after the meeting, the Minister of Interior said the procurement is to aid the ongoing reforms in the security sector.
