FG unveils initiative to attract young farmers – Minister of Agriculture.

The Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr Aliyu S. Abdullahi, has revealed that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, is working to redesign the curriculum for young farmers. This initiative aims to equip the next generation with modern agricultural skills, technology-driven knowledge, and innovative farming practices to strengthen national food security
Speaking on the second day of the interactive session organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Foundation, the minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to fostering synergy among key sectors to achieve the broad objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“The synergy and collaboration of the Ministries of Agriculture, Environment, Water Resources, Livestock Development, and the Marine and Blue Economy are imperative for delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
He noted that the leadership of the present administration is intentional about investing in Nigeria’s livestock sector. According to him, the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development plans to set up a breeding centre in each of the six geopolitical zones to enhance productivity and sustainability.
