First Bank of Nigeria Limited has announced the closure of its representative office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The office which was set up to serve business interests in the Middle East locations functioned optimally to support customers to build and grow their businesses within and around that region.

However, in the last three years, the Bank has set up six subsidiary banks across Africa as part of its expansion strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa, with an International Banking Group to coordinate all international business, hence, the decision to shut down the representative office.

The Bank will continue to assist customers from the region to take advantage of business opportunities in their various markets through the International Banking Group and the regional subsidiaries.

The FirstBank representative office in Beijing is still operational and active to take care of customers’ business interests in China, Middle East and the rest of Asia.
