Flour Mills Invests in Agric Sector

In a move that further reiterates the commitment of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc to the development of the Agriculture Sector in Nigeria, and the pursuance of its core strategic focus of “Feeding the Nation, Everyday,” the company today announced further strategic investments in a Fertilizer Blending Plant and a bid for Silo Complexes from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD).

The Company informs that work on the Proposed Fertilizer Blending Plant, located at Kudenda, in Kaduna state has reached advanced stage. The installation of the requisite machinery, and the freighting of raw materials and its attendant packaging to the factory sites ahead of production for the next planting season has commenced.

Flour Mills has also revealed that it is through some of its subsidiaries participating in the on-going Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development’s, Bid for Tenders for Silos Complexes. Although FMARD is yet to communicate the final dates when Agreements will be executed, the company informed that it has been awarded concessions for 3 of the Silos, subject to the execution of the Agreements with FMARD. Flour Mills of Nigeria has continued to exhibit its commitment and drive to lead the market in the food and agro-allied sectors.
