Four In Police Net For Alleged Armed Robbery, Kidnapping In Anambra

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested four suspects for armed robbery and kidnapping, and recovered one pump action gun and one black Toyota Camry car with registration number: SMK 835 FC during their arrest.

The Anambra State Police Command public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the arrest of the suspects through a press statement released on Tuesday, said operatives of the police command attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, acting on credible intelligence, arrested the suspects on September 24.
According to Ikenga, the suspects, all males between the ages of 22 and 40, identified as Uchenna Aniegboka, Sunday Nwakalor, Chukwuebuka Aniegbunam, and Onyebuchi Udemba, were arrested in Aguleri, Anambra East LGA of the state.
The statement read in part, “Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command attached to the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, in the early hours of September 24, 2025, acting on credible intelligence, stormed Aguleri and arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly involved in armed robbery and kidnapping in the area.
“The suspects, all males between the ages of 22 and 40 years, include: Uchenna Aniegboka, Sunday Nwakalor, Chukwuebuka Aniegbunam and Onyebuchi Udemba.
“During the Operations, one pump-action gun, and one black Toyota Camry car with registration. No. SMK 835 FC were recovered.
“To this end, while the suspects are still undergoing interrogation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, reaffirms the Command’s commitment to ensuring that criminal elements have no hiding place in the State.
“He further urged members of the public to continue to provide timely information to the Police to aid in the fight against crime,” the state police image-maker said, just as he also added that the case shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigations.
