Gunmen Abduct Five Worshippers, Injure One In Zamfara Village

Gunmen in the early hours of Thursday invaded Maradawa village in Rijiya District, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State and abducted five worshippers and injured one person

Security expert, Zagazola Makama , who made this disclosure on his x handle on Friday, said the attack occurred at about 5:45 a.m. on Thursday while residents were observing the Subhi (dawn) prayers.

According to him, assailants reportedly opened fire on the worshippers, wounding one person before abducting five others to an unknown destination.

He added that troops later visited the scene, and the injured victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The troops have been deployed to the area and are currently on the trail of the attackers to rescue the victims and restore normalcy.
