IGP Confirms withdrawal of Police officers from VIPs

The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun on Thursday confirmed the removal of Police officers assigned to Very Important Personalities across the country.

Egbetokun, who confirmed the development while speaking in a meeting with senior police officers in Abuja on Thursday, added that the Presidential order given ensured ease when implementing the removal.

Nigerian police chief, who noted the importance of the action, added that the Force is committed to securing the lives and properties of Nigerians.

Recall that this action was ordered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday.

Tinubu issued the directive in a bid to increase security across the country, amid the increase in killings, abductions and insecurity.
