Ikekhua, Mimiko, Two Others Join Governing Council Of NIA

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—The Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) has announced the co-option of new members into its Governing Council.

According to the association, Mr. Andrew Ikekhua, Managing Director of NEM Insurance Plc; Mr. Gboyega Lesi, Managing Director of Leadway Assurance Company Limited; and Mr. Olalekan Oyinlade, Managing Director of emPLE General Insurance Limited, have been re-co-opted into the Council.

The statement added that Mr. Tunde Mimiko, MD of SanlamAllianz Life Insurance Limited has been newly co-opted.

The appointments were confirmed during the November Governing Council meeting held at the Insurers House on November 27, 2025. The newly co-opted members will serve a one-year tenure.

NIA Chairman, Mr. Kunle Ahmed, congratulated the appointees and expressed confidence in their capacity to contribute meaningfully to the association’s progress. He charged them to represent the industry with diligence and help advance the NIA’s growth and development agenda.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Folashade Joseph, Mr. Bode Opadokun, Mr. Femi Asenuga, and Mr. Lawrence Nazare have exited the Governing Council, having completed their tenures.
