Insurance Meets Tech (IMT), has celebrated Mrs. Ebelechukwu Nwachukwu on her election as the first female Chairman of the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) and Mr. Akinjide Orimolade on his investiture as the 53rd President of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN).

IMT also applauded the president of the Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), Mrs. Ekeoma Ezeibe and Dr. Joyce Odiachi as President of the Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA).

The organisation noted that the appointments come as the insurance sector undergoes far-reaching reforms driven by the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025, ongoing recapitalisation and regulatory initiatives aimed at deepening insurance penetration, strengthening market conduct and accelerating digital transformation.

The Convener of Insurance Meets Tech and Chief Executive Officer of Creato Urban, Odion Aleobua, described the appointments as a defining moment for the industry.

“The four most influential institutions are welcoming new leaders at a time of unprecedented reform. Their emergence presents an opportunity to build a stronger, more trusted and more inclusive insurance industry. We are particularly proud to witness the election of the NIA’s first female Chairman, a milestone that inspires the next generation of women professionals,” he said.

Aleobua added that IMT has enjoyed productive partnerships with the NIA, CIIN, NCRIB and PILA over the years and looks forward to strengthening collaboration with their new leadership at the 5th Edition of Insurance Meets Tech, scheduled for September 18, 2026, in Lagos, under the theme, “Building Insurance That Connects.”

IMT also expressed appreciation to the outgoing leadership of the four institutions for their contributions to the development of Nigeria’s insurance industry.
