Jigawa Govt Revenue Generation Jumps To N23.8b In Six Months

Things are gradually looking up for Jigawa State Government in  area of revenue generation, as it has jumped to more than 100% in the last six months with N23.8 billion generated from January to June this year, reports Business Today NG.

The Executive Chairman, Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. Nasiru Sabo Idris, made the revelation while featuring  in a Radio Jigawa program, Jigawa A Yau.

According to him, the revenue figure is nearly three times of what was generated during the same period in 2024 where 9.175 billion naira was generated

The state revenue service boss also disclosed  that in May 2025 alone, the service collected over five billion naira as tax, and over six billion naira in June, just as he also added  monthly revenue has steadily increased due to new strategies implemented by the agency.

According to Sabo, service was making efforts to recover around 8.9 billion naira in Pay As You Earn tax from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, due to Jigawa State.

The state revenue service boss also assured the state government of the agency’s commitment to continue generating revenue to support development projects across the state.
