Just In: NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results

The National Examinations Council has released the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results, BusinessToday has learnt. 

The examination which took place from May 12, 2025 to May 23, 2025, was announced by the Acting Director of Public Affairs of NECO, Acting Director of Public Affairs of the examination body, Azeez Sani.

Sani, in a statement announcing the BECE results, said a total of 179,201 candidates registered in 12 subjects.

“The results of the examination were released following the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at the Council’s Headquarters in Minna.

“During the meeting, the chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr. (Mrs) Folake David, Director, Basic Education. The Federal Ministry of Education expressed satisfaction with the processes leading to the successful release of the results.

“The Award Committee Meeting was also attended by some Secondary School Principals from across the Country as well as NECO Management.

Similarly, Meanwhile, the Award Committee has approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit examination. The re-sit is scheduled for July 23 and 24, 2025, and will cover Mathematics and English Studies.
