Lagos Pays N1.559bn To 287 Retirees

PRESS RELEASE—-The government of Lagos State under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwoolu has again risen to the challenge that Lagos State public service retirees will not labour in vain, as this was demonstrated at the 67th retirement bond presentation ceremony at which the sum of #1,559,662,536.44 was disbursed into Retirement Savings Account of 287 retirees.

In her welcome address to the retirees the Director General of Lagos State Pension commission Mrs Folashade Onanuga said Lagos State Government has consistently been funding the accrued pension rights without which retirees will not be able to have access to the balance in the Retirees Savings Account.

She also implore the retirees to go for regular medical checkup to maintain their mental and physical wellbeing at all times.  They were advised to spend their pension judiciously and not embarking on any business that will be stressful to their health.

The retirees prayed and show appreciation to the government for the consistency in payment of their terminal benefits.  

The workforce of Lagos State Pension Commission was also applauded for the transparent and organized way they perform their duties.
