Lagos Police Arrest Suspected Armed Robber in Igando

BY SUNDAY SAMUEL —As part of the sustained efforts against crime and criminality across Lagos State, operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber and recovered a locally fabricated pistol as well as assorted charms during a routine patrol in Igando area of the State.

The arrest was made when a Police patrol team sighted a motorcycle conveying three male occupants behaving suspiciously. On sighting the police, the suspects attempted to flee. One of the suspects, Olajunja Segun Samson ‘m’ 29 years, was apprehended, while the two other suspects escaped, abandoning the motorcycle.

A search conducted on the suspect and the abandoned motorcycle led to the recovery of one locally fabricated pistol and assorted charms. The suspect is currently in Police custody while efforts are being intensified to apprehend the fleeing accomplices. Investigation into the case is ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, has commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism. He reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to tackling violent crimes and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information that will aid crime prevention and the apprehension of criminal elements.

The Command also encourages residents to report suspicious activities through the Lagos State Police Command’s emergency lines for prompt police response.
