LASACO Assurance Appoints Ademoye Shobo As Acting MD/CEO As Razzaq Abiodun Retires

BY NKECHI NAECHE -ESEZOBOR—Lasaco Assurance Plc has announced the retirement of its Company’s Managing Director, Mr. Razzaq Abiodun with effect from Thursday 6’^ November, 2025.

This is contained in a notice signed by Gertrude Olutexunbi, the company Secretary, to the Nigerian Exchange Group and dealing members.

Consequently, the Board of Directors has approved the appointment of Mr. Ademoye Shobo Executive Director(Technical) as the acting Managing Director/CEO.

Shobo has worked with Lasaco Assurance Plc for over 30 years and rose to become Executive Director (Technical). The Company has benefited from his wealth of technical experience and exposure on insurance matters.

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from Lagos State University, obtained in 1988, and became an Associate Member of the Chartered  Insurance Institute of Nigeria in 1998. He joined Lasaco Assurance Plc in 1993 as an Officer in the Audit Department of the Organization.

He worked in the Audit department until 1995, with the responsibility of ensuring compliance with company policy by all departments and branches. He proceeded to the technical department and worked in both the Claims and Transportation departments, where he was saddled with Claims Administration and General Underwriting.

He moved to the Marketing department and started as the Manager of the Kano branch in 2000, becoming the Regional Controller of the F.C.T. and Northern Region until April 2010. He was appointed Assistant General Manager and moved to the Head Office, where he supervised the marketing Division.

In 2013, he was promoted to Deputy General Manager and assigned to oversee the Technical Division. He was later promoted to the position of General Manager (Marketing), responsible for coordinating all Marketing activities in the Northern Region.

He has attended many courses both locally and internationally and is currently the Acting Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.
