BY NKECH NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Leadway Assurance has strengthened its long-standing partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) through the “Arrive Alive” campaign, a joint initiative aimed at improving road safety awareness and promoting responsible driving behaviour across Nigeria.

The campaign is designed to reduce preventable road accidents, encourage compliance with traffic regulations, and foster a stronger culture of safety among motorists nationwide. It also includes incentives to reward drivers who consistently adhere to established safety standards.

As part of the initiative, a webinar titled “Arrive Alive Because Life is Priceless” was held on May 6, 2026, featuring FRSC Lagos State Sector Commander, Kehinde Hamzat, and Leadway’s Head of Technical Risk Management, Otuyemi Olatunde. They highlighted key vehicle safety requirements and common causes of road crashes, including driver distraction, negligence, and unsafe practices.

The programme continued with physical sensitisation exercises on May 7, 2026, at the FRSC office in Ojota and the Ojota Motor Park in Lagos, where motorists were trained on safe driving practices, regulatory compliance, and responsible road use.

Drivers who demonstrated compliance—such as wearing seat belts, maintaining valid documentation, and carrying essential safety equipment—were recognised and rewarded as part of the campaign’s behavioural reinforcement strategy.

Both organisations reaffirmed their commitment to reducing road traffic incidents in Nigeria, stressing that sustained public education, enforcement, and behavioural change are essential to improving road safety and saving lives.
