NAHCON Slashes Fare For 2026 Hajj Sets 5th December As New deadline

As part of measures of making the spiritual journey more affordable for intending pilgrims, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on Monday announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fare

The Public Affairs Unit of NAHCON Mariam Zubair , who made this disclosure through a statement issued on Monday, said the revised figures is to enable pilgrims save up to N792,943.83, depending on their departure zone.

According to Zubair, the downward review aligns with the Commission’s commitment to ensuring cost-effective services for Nigerian pilgrims while maintaining quality standards.

The statement gave breakdown that the Southern Zone recorded the highest reduction, with the new fare now N7,991,141.76, down from N8,784,085.59.

Pilgrims in the Northern Zone will save N760,915.83, following the review of the fare to N7,696,769.76.

The Borno/Adamawa Zone, which enjoys the lowest fare category, now has a revised rate of N7,579,020.96, representing a reduction of N748,104.63.

NAHCON also announced a new payment deadline for 5th December 2025, urging prospective pilgrims to make timely payments to secure their slots for the 2026 Hajj.

Recall that last October, President Bola Tinubu approved a review of the 2026 Hajj fareThe directive, conveyed through Vice President Kashim Shettima, instructed NAHCON to develop a more affordable fare to ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims.
