NAICOM Recapitalisation: Unitrust Insurance Successfully Recapitalises, Secures New License

BY NKECHI NAECHE-ESEZOBOR—Unitrust Insurance Company Limited has successfully new minimum capital requirements and received its new operating license from National Insurance Commission,( NAICOM ), marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth and long-term strategic vision.

A statement released by the company’s head of corporate communications, Swachet Ishaku Iliyasu, said the achievement follows the successful completion of the Company’s capital raising initiative through a Rights Issue, which was concluded successfully.

It added the enhanced capital position reinforces Unitrust Insurance’s financial strength, its underwriting capacity, and further positions the Company to deliver innovative insurance solutions while creating sustainable value for its customers, business partners, and shareholders.

Commenting on the achievement, the Managing Director/CEO of the company, Mr. Adedayo Arowojolu expressed appreciation to the Company’s shareholders, customers, business partners, employees, and all stakeholders for their unwavering confidence and support throughout the recapitalization process.

This milestone underscores the insurer’s  commitment to financial resilience, operational excellence, and its readiness to seize emerging opportunities in the insurance industry while continuing to provide exceptional value to all stakeholders.
