NAICOM To Drive Insurance Awareness Campaign Through CIIN

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), has reaffirmed  its commitment to spreading the gospel of insurance to the nooks and crannies of the nation.

  Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, stated  this during a working visit to Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) Secretariat in Lagos.

Omosehin joined the third quarter Council meeting of the Institute to express his profound gratitude to the Secretariat for the support received since his appointment.

He further added that the recently concluded insurance week organized by the Institute means so much to the Industry.

“I must say that the insurance week is such a laudable one, and we will continue to support future editions. We have started seeing the result of the initiative and we look forward to more.” 

The CIIN President/Chairman of Council, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, FIIN, applauded the Commissioner for Insurance for his sterling efforts towards taking the insurance industry to the next level.

“The Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025 (NIIRA 2025) will linger in our hearts for a very long time. The record have it that it was signed under your administration,” the President noted.

She further added that the Institute will do its best to support the enforcement of sincere professionalism in the industry.

On his part, the Commissioner addressed the NIIRA 2025; he stressed that the Regulator will uphold the Act and enforce it It is pertinent to state here that we have launched the Re-Capitalisation Committee amongst other things and all fake insurance certificate issuers will be prosecuted”

Omosehin stated. “Ongoing investigations revealed that some perpetrators have been issuing fake insurance policies to the masses, defaming the essence of insurance; the Commission will not spare its rod on anyone caught issuing fake policies.”

The Entire Council of CIIN appreciated the working visit of the Commissioner to the Institute.
