NGX Group to Celebrate International Women’s Day

Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group) along with its subsidiaries, is set to host a hybrid symposium themed “Embrace Equity: Setting the Standard for a Sustainable Future”, to celebrate the 2023 International Women’s Day on Wednesday, 8 March 2023, at 1:00p.m. (WAT).

Globally, International Women’s Day is a date set aside to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. As with previous years, the Group is collaborating with the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), Sustainable Stock Exchanges (SSE) Initiative, United Nations (UN) Women, United Nations Global Compact and International Finance Corporation (IFC), to host this year’s event which will culminate in a Closing Gong ceremony, where Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) will join securities exchanges all over the world to “Ring the Bell for gender equality”.

Consistent with the Group’s objectives to accelerate progress and impact on the advancement of women across all spheres of life, the event will feature discussions that highlight the business case for diversity, equity and inclusion, as the pathway to a sustainable economic future. Some of the confirmed speakers at the event include Dahlia Khalifa, Regional Director, IFC, who will deliver the keynote speech on “Promoting Equity for Women and Men for a Sustainable World”,  Rosie Bichard, Co-Chair, Women Executives on Board Network and Tinuade Awe, CEO, NGX Regulation Limited (NGX RegCo) for the fireside chat. The symposium will also feature a panel discussion on “Embrace Equity: Creating Safe Spaces for Women to Thrive”, featuring Adesuwa Okunbo-Rhodes, CEO, Aruwa Capital Management; Kate Henshaw, Actress and Entrepreneur; Nkechi Abiola, Convener, Lady Wheelers Association; Chidinma Chukwueke-Okolo, Head, Product Development, NGX, Dr. Dipo Awojide, Founder, BTDT Hub and Dr. Kemi Dasilva-Ibru, Founder, Wariff.
