NRC Confirms Abuja-Kaduna Train Derailment

The Nigerian Railway Corporation has confirmed that  a train involving its Kaduna bound AKTS train service derailed involving  at about 11.09 at KM 49 between Kubwa station and Asham station.

According to brief statement posted via its official X account that “Emergency rescue, medical personnel, and nearby hospitals have already been mobilised.

The statement further said that  “Full compliment of security already on ground as effort is ongoing to move all passengers on train back to Abuja safely.

“Kindly bear with us at this moment.”

At the time of filing this report details of what led to the derailment and the number of  casualties were yet to be disclosed by ZNRC.
