Ogun Man Arrested For Allegedly Threatening Resident With Gun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested  man named Oluwatobiloba Kehinde for allegedly threatening a resident with a locally made pistol in the Agbena area of Abeokuta, reportsBusiness TodayNG.

The Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest of the suspect through a press statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, 29 June, 2025.

According to Odutola, the arrest followed a distress call received from the victim on Saturday, 28 June, 2025, added that  the incident occurred on Friday, 27 June, 2025 at about 6 pm, when the complainant, a male resident of the area, was accosted on his way back from a football field.

“The complainant reported that he was returning from a football field when he was confronted by one Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, who threatened to deal with him if he refused to give him money,” the state police image-maker said in the statement

According to Odutola, the situation escalated when the suspect’s alleged accomplices arrived on a motorcycle and joined in physically assaulting the victim . He managed to escape the scene and fled to his residence.

“Shockingly, the same suspect, Oluwatobiloba Kehinde, traced the complainant to his family house, armed with a locally made pistol, and continued issuing threats to shoot him,” Odutola said.

Acting on the report, police operatives swiftly moved to the location and arrested the suspect and a locally made firearm used in the threat was recovered from the suspect,” Odutola added.

The state police publicist added that  that the case has been formally recorded and preliminary investigations have commenced, and members of the public will be informed of the outcome.
