Nigerian celebrity Chef, Hilda Baci has been congratulated by the Nigeria’s First Lady Guinness World Record, this time for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice.
Mrs Tinubu said in a personal statement issued on Tuesday evening that“Hilda, your passion, resilience, and creativity in showcasing your craft as a celebrity chef of one of Nigeria’s most loved dishes on the global stage is inspiring,” Mrs Tinubu said in a personal statement on Tuesday evening.
She added, “Through this feat, you have shown what young Nigerian women can accomplish with hard work, determination, and the power of innovation.”
Baci, 28, won global acclaim in 2023 after cooking continuously for more than 90 hours in Lagos, a feat certified as the longest individual cooking marathon.
According to the First Lady, Baci’s achievement had brought pride to the nation and expressed hopes for “greater accomplishments” by Nigerian youth who “dare to dream.”
Baci on Saturday set a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780 kilogrammes (19,356 lb 9 oz).
The record was achieved in partnership with Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, and has been officially confirmed.
Announcing the feat on Monday on X, the post read,” New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
Guinness World Records had earlier sent words of encouragement to Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, as she attempts to cook the world’s largest serving of Nigerian-style Jollof rice.
