Osun 2026: Davido Hints On Gov Adeleke’s Defection Plans To APC

Ahead of the 2026 gubernatorial election in the Osun State, rumours are making the rounds that the state governor Ademola Adeleke’s is planning of dumping the peoples Democratic Party(pdp)for the All Progressives Congress(APC), reports Business Today NG.
Popular Nigerian music superstar, Davido, has hinted the possibility of his uncle, Adeleke imminent defection to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Recall the rumors began last month after Davido and governor Adeleke visited President Bola Tinubu for a private meeting at his Lagos residence.
The singer appeared to confirmed the planned defection in his newly released single title “From Umbrella To Broom” (meaning from PDP to APC)
While explaining that the significant implication of this political shift is for the benefit of the state, Davido claimed that joining APC will move the state forward.
“New broom go sweep better. Ẹtan abẹla si ìjọba wa. From umbrella to the broom. Adegbe adafa, alagbada alefa.
“Eyan marun, mefa, kilode ta n suffer. New broom go sweep better. Them tori us propaganda from January to December we no gbadun NEPA. So all of our youths wan go America,” meaning (why are we suffering when the new broom can sweep better),”Davido said in the song
